Mission Statement

We would like to share out Mission Statement with you:

Our mission is to provide an unparalleled healing environment where those who have, or professionally treat someone who has Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), can meet and discuss existing with DID and healing from the causes of DID and other diagnoses and issues related to DID. Our goal is to respect and learn from one another, in order to aid us on our distinct path to healing.

In order to fulfill our mission, we require cooperation and respect between members and staff. All areas will include topics relevant to the forum area in which they are written. Members can expect replies to their posts to remain appropriate and relevant to their topics. Members are expected to maintain the integrity of the community through following the guidelines, which are clearly posted.

Each member's deep regard for others' reactions to what is written will guide them when they begin topics or respond to posts. They will always keep in mind everyone's need to feel safe and comfortable. The use of trigger warnings is required in the new member areas which allow triggering information. In the MBA forums which allow triggering information it is not necessary to put a trigger warning. However, if a member feels the need to use them, a short statement of the material's triggering aspect is enough. It is a member's choice to continue reading or stop. We trust that our members can regulate their own behavior and keep themselves safe as they take part in our community.

We maintain a safe and comfortable environment through staff regularly monitoring posts and replies.

In striving to provide a healing environment for our members, all discussion remains relevant to better understanding and accepting Dissociative Identity Disorder and working toward healing to the fullest extent possible for each of us. New members, after posting an introduction and being set up by Administrative Staff, may participate in all forum groups except the ones in Intense Discussions, Tweens / Teens Forums and Littles Forums. Member posts are moderated by staff and for compliance with policies and guidelines. When we feel comfortable with members, and they feel comfortable in the community, members may apply for the MBA locked forums if they have a background in the area discussed there. For the protection of members' Tweens/Teens and Littles, access to those forums will be considered on a case by case basis as members apply to them. Only Tweens/Teens and Littles are allowed to post in those forums with appropriate supervision. Members utilize each section according to need. As an amiable and generous community, we support and validate each other as equally distinct and important.

Welcome to our community.

About Our Group

We are a Yuku Community based support group message board forum. Our administrative staff includes the Owner, an Administrator, and five Moderators at this time, who not only are on the road to recovery with DID themselves, they contribute and interact with members, and are also a dedicated team focused on member safety, keeping the community running smoothly, and making sure individual members' needs are met. Members are dedicated to traveling the difficult path toward healing from past abuse that has affected current life situations and/or daily living. In this safe environment, trust amongst survivors promotes healing through expression of past abuse, feelings, and openly discussing current problems and successes. The Main Discussion Groups, Our Safe Home, and DID Related Issues forums are the focus groups where open discussion takes place. All members regularly participate in these areas. Each member also has a Private Journal available for their view and use only. A Chat Room is available to all members as well. Private forums, referred to as Membership By Approval (MBA), where more intense discussion takes place, are accessed upon administrative approval after a member has posted enough for the staff and members to become comfortable with them and for the member to be comfortable with our forum setup, policies and guidelines, staff, and members.

Multiple Paths To Healing - DID Tour

You are invited to take a tour of our support message board and chat community which serves as our home base. By doing so, you will be able to become acquainted with what our support community offers survivors of child abuse who have and continue to use Dissociative Identity Disorder as a coping mechanism in everyday life and those professionals who treat them.  You will also see how the board has been designed and what categories of forums are included for discussions.  Members of this community contribute to this website, as well as interacting on the forum through open discussion and chat.  Each is respectful, supportive, compassionate, and knowledgeable.  Members each have a sincere regard for the safety and need for validation and support of other members.

Access to the Group

Our Introduction/Welcome forum area is open to Yuku members. You will need to set up a free or supporter account with Yuku before you can post. This can be done at http://yuku.com. Please wait for the e-mail confirming your account, then return to our site, enter the Introductions forum, and post a New Topic introducing yourself so other members can welcome you to the community and begin to get to know you. To get to our community simply enter http://multiplepathstohealing.yuku.com into your browser or click on the link here. Your "introduction" post will be reviewed by our Administrative team, and you will then be set up with access to the main forums if you meet stated membership criteria, which can be found in Policies and Guidelines, which is also open for reading by visitors and prospective members. The rest of the forums are "invisible" until you become a member as an internet safety measure for the members of our community. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to meeting and getting to know you.
